Hidden in My Heart

My love may not be obvious to you,
It hides deep where you can’t see through.
Buried in the corners of my soul,
So well-kept, I lose control.
It might seem like I’m cold as ice,
But inside, I’m breaking twice.
Tormented by what’s come to pass,
By the love I can’t outlast.

You might think I have no heart,
That the memories are torn apart.
You might think I never cry,
But inside, it’s all a lie.
Hurt by love, but I can’t let it show,
Hurt by all the things I know.
Each day I pretend I’m fine,
But inside, it’s you I can’t resign.

Every time you cross my mind,
I hide the pain I feel inside.
Bearing the weight of this love alone,
Crying in silence, unknown.
It seems like I’ve forgotten it all,
Like I stand so strong, so tall.
But inside, I’m falling fast,
This love, too deep to outlast.

You might think I have no heart,
That the memories are torn apart.
You might think I never cry,
But inside, it’s all a lie.
Hurt by love, but I can’t let it show,
Hurt by all the things I know.
Each day I pretend I’m fine,
But inside, it’s you I can’t resign.

How do I stop this endless fall?
How do I keep from thinking of it all?
Every day’s a fight I lose,
To push away these endless blues.
Still, I love you, though I try,
I can’t break free, no matter how hard I cry.

You might think I have no heart,
That the memories are torn apart.
You might think I never cry,
But inside, it’s all a lie.
Hurt by love, but I can’t let it show,
Hurt by all the things I know.
Each day I pretend I’m fine,
But inside, it’s you I can’t resign.

How do I stop loving you this way?
How do I turn and walk away?
I don’t know how to let you go,
Even when it’s hurting me so.
How do I stop loving you tonight?
When letting go feels like losing the fight.
